Afternoon shift Production Operator - Oven

My client who is a leader in Food Manufacturing and located in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, is seeking a reliable and motivated Production Worker – Oven to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the end-to-end production process of baked goods including granola, bars, and other cereal-based products—from raw ingredient handling through to finished product.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food production, machine operation, or process work who is looking to grow within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate ovens, mixers, and associated production equipment
• Load and batch raw ingredients accurately
• Monitor product through the oven and adjust temperatures as required
• Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
• Complete production reports and documentation
• Assist with packing, labelling, and product handling
• Maintain continuous production flow to meet output targets
• Perform cleaning tasks, including allergen cleans and line changeovers
• Support general production duties across multiple lines as required

About You

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or production environments (highly desirable)
• Experience operating machinery or working on production lines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow processes and work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role
• Basic computer skills (for reporting and documentation)

Highly Regarded (but not essential):

• Forklift licence
• Experience with oven operation, mixing, or batching
• Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and WHS practices
